There’s a group of 40 youth in the community that we would like to give them each a pack of Canadian black history collectable cards.These amazing cards provide the gift of knowledge. This will have a positive impact on their self-image and confidence as they’ll greatly benefit from knowing that people that look like them had a huge impact in Canadian history. The cards will be given in English or French depending on the preferred language of the child.

Each deck features 26 high-quality color coded cards. Highlighting Canadian Black Contributions over seven (7) themes: Red = Sports, Green = Military Exploits, Blue = Places, Purple = Science, Yellow = Pioneers in their Field, Brown = Politics and Orange = Human Rights.

 

Would you be interested in helping out by donating towards the cost of a pack? Our current goal is to bless 40 youth by raising $800.00, but if we can raise more we will give out more! They’re only $20/pack and each youth that will be given a pack will be encourage to write a short thank you note to the donor that gave them the Black History gift, including their favorite Canadian Black individual from the pack and why they chose them.

 

We know you don’t need the thanks from the youth, but this exercise is more of a benefit for them, than you. By writing a quick note, every child will get to practice their communication skills, learn something about Canadian black history, get the opportunity to express gratitude, and by feeling what it feels like to have a member of the community looking out for them, they get to understand the value of community.

Il y a un groupe de 40 jeunes de la communauté à qui nous aimerions donner à chacun un paquet de cartes à collectionner de l’histoire des Noirs du Canada. Ces cartes étonnantes offrent le cadeau de la connaissance. Cela aura un impact positif sur leur image de soi et leur confiance en soi, car ils bénéficieront grandement de savoir que les personnes qui leur ressemblent ont eu un impact considérable sur l’histoire du Canada. Les cartes seront données en anglais ou en français selon la langue préférée de l’enfant.

Chaque paquet comporte 26 cartes codées par couleur de haute qualité. Seriez-vous intéressé à aider en faisant un don pour le coût d’un pack? Notre objectif actuel est de bénir 40 jeunes en amassant 800,00 $, mais si nous pouvons en amasser plus, nous en donnerons plus! Ils ne coûtent que 20 $ / paquet et chaque jeune à qui un paquet sera attribué sera encouragé à écrire un court mot de remerciement au donateur qui lui a offert le cadeau de l’histoire des Noirs, y compris son individu noir canadien préféré du paquet et pourquoi ils ont choisi ce personnage.

Nous savons que vous n’avez pas besoin des remerciements des jeunes, mais cet exercice leur procure plus d’avantages que vous. En écrivant une note rapide, chaque enfant pourra mettre en pratique ses compétences en communication, en apprendre davantage sur l’histoire des Noirs au Canada, avoir l’occasion d’exprimer sa gratitude, et en ressentant ce que l’on ressent lorsqu’un membre de la communauté les surveille, ils peuvent comprendre la valeur de la communauté.
